Vinnie was born April 3, 2002 and started his show career in the spring of 2003 at the Colonial Rottweiler Club Specialty in Lancaster, PA. In July, 2003, he started his quest to obtain his AKC championship. Vinnie earned his championship in short order in November, 2003. Commencing in April, 2004 through November, 2005, Vinnie was shown in Best of Breed primarily in Virginia and Maryland with an occasional foray into North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Vinnie was not heavily campaigned as his owners had difficulty parting with him and would not send him on the road with handlers. During this time Vinnie was awarded Best of Breed 16 times, Best Opposite Sex 10 times and was awarded multiple group placements. His Best of Breed wins included a win over the number one ranked Rottweiler in the Country. At the 2005 Colonial Rottweiler Specialty, Vinnie received an Award of Merit.
We are very proud that Vinnie also served as part of a very successful Junior Showmanship team both in all breed competition and at the various Rottweiler Specialties including the American Rottweiler Specialty, the Colonial Rottweiler Specialty and the Medallion Rottweiler Specialty with his handler, Samantha Moretz, winning Best Junior Handler. Samantha and Vinnie were fondly known as “Beauty and the Beast.”
